Oh yeah, I forgot to add to my little Tweed Fender comparison thang that I had the Gal set to pentode for each of those emulations. Haven't played the triode setting too much, seemed thinner to me and without the punch, but that was my 1st impression and not adequately analyzed. Anybody have a different experience or prefer the triode for any particular use? Pentode just sounded so good and the brake got me the volume I wanted, so wasn't motivated to try it too much.

Triode, to me, softens things up a bit. I like it with a tele, but the strat and Les Paul sound better to me in pentode. It tightens things up a bit-especially with HB's. I really don't hear a 10 watt difference between the two. But since I've heard that hitting the switch on the fly isn't a good idea, it's hard to really A/B it. My perception is more of a feel thing.

Mitch, I agree. Triode doesn't seem to drop the power or volume, but is softer, not as punchy. Not sure what use it is if it doesn't cut the volume some, but I haven't messed with it enough to really assess. I'm working today (Sunday, jeesh!), or I'd go mess wif it right now!

Hey gotmojo, I tried out your "Tweed" settings on my Galaxie. I'm playing a '57 reissue Strat through it. Those setting sound fantastic! I like 'em all. Thanks for the post! ;D
