Great news Z! My preference would be keep the channels separated and switchable. Not sure why the original version channels worked wonderfully for my gigging needs and don't need a master volume. The inefficient g12-65 and a couple clicks on the brake lite made the amp gig friendly for me. Kick in the drive channel for a nice boost in volume and gain, 'nuf said. I'm obviously in the minority. If the master is out of the circuit when turned up, sure add it as long as the presence control is still present. ;-) And offer a 1x12 in the lighter cab like the new wreck cab loaded with a creamback would be righteous!

Hey Doc, I already told the wife if you come out with a two channel M/V & Presence Galaxie, I'm buying. She's excited about it. We wouldn't want to disappoint the little lady LOL

Back in July 2010, (Ekko) had a thread in the Amp Questions/Toubleshooting section near the bottom of Page 14 there is some more talk on the desire for the presence + MV. I think that configuration might get the nod. Everything is a compromise. I USED to think some sort of VOL2 EQ shift switch for use at lower volumes would be cool, but I am not sure I would even use them now. Great that the Doc is looking into this.

If the MV version has an unused speaker output jack that hole might be able to be used to mount a presence control without having to permanently alter anything. I don't own a Galaxie so I'm just throwing this out there as a possibility. I've used this trick to do mods on several other amps.

After a long absence from my collection, Galaxie 112 comb serial #076 has come home .... I've been having an 'affair' with this particular combo for the past several years - to the point my wife said I need to get my head into the daylight and see what's what ..... I am grateful for her patience and clarity (my wife and the amp) I have owned/tried a later version with the MV mod ...... and I am quite sure that I will be keeping my combo stock-standard set-up with the two channels and Presence control .... it is what works for me and makes me happy - it has taken my a long time to figure that out, and that's all I gotta say about that cheers always, eh Joel

Is the Mod still available? Thinking about pulling the trigger on it if so. Between treble and bass I am good to go.

I've been thinking about a Galaxie for a couple years off and on. The Master AND Presence .... well i think that would be swEEt. And then a Ghia with a Wizzer unit like Neil Young ..... that's to much .... but maybe, just maybe.

Forgive the dumb question-- can both the combo and head be modded? I tried looking for the answer, but could not find it, Thanks!

Since this thread is back in the recent mix, I have to ask: Doc said a while back he was considering re-issuing the Galaxie with maybe a few tweaks. I know he's had his hands full with the Therapy and Z-Lux since then, but has anyone heard anything more about that idea?
