A buddy of mine borrowed my Air Brake to use on his tube amp and loved it. But he also has a couple of solid state amps. His question to me was if the Air Brake would work on them as well. To be honest I am not sure if it would work and/or damage his solid state amps. Help please.

Don't try it - it's a tube amp thing only.

Benttop's right of course but some solid state amp designs distort nice when cranked, most just sound bad. Crank a soid state Vox from the 60s and they sound pretty good! The old Kustoms sounded good. John Cippolina's Standell amps sounded good but the common thread on all of these amps is that they all had great speakers that sounded great when pushed hard so that may be more of what sounds good, not the amp itself. So, like he implies, never mind using an Air Brake with a solid state amp.

Thanks guys. I appreciated you giving me the answer. I guess that is why I have 10 Karmas and the and you have about 200 between the two of you.
Because I can only give one karma per hour I gave it to benttop because he is behind... But in one hour billyguitar will get one as well. Thanks guys.
