Well why not have this thread too? I have two Hot Plates and one Airbrake here, so one day I got a wild hair and tore them all a part to take pictures. Here's where you can see it all: www.src.strayca.com/attenuators.htmI like both units for different reasons. The Airbrake has better steps (as has been mentioned) than the Hot Plate - if my Hot Plate had 2db steps it would be more useful. I think the Hot Plate is better suited to sitting on top of a head because the controls are on the front and the connections are on the back. AND you get a line out, which I often use for my tuner. But the reason I have two Hot Plates is the impedance matching, and of course the Airbrake can be used with any impedance (so says the manual). I've been considering adding a set of jacks to the side of the Airbrake so that all of the connections are on one side, allowing better setup on top of an amp. Then I'll probably use it with the Mazerati when it arrives...

My Hot Plate is changed to the 2 db per click. Way more useful. I looked inside mine and it's got something written on it about paying for a divorce, I can't remember exactly. Andy Marshall must've written that on there himself. I had to laugh when I read that, being divorced myself I can " feel his pain".

Any clue what they changed? Sounds like a good mod to me!
