So for those of you that heard the Z-Wreck at Z-Fest, how would you describe it compared to the StangRay? From what I gather, it sounds to me like it gets quite a bit dirtier than the Ray. Is that the main difference in your opinions, the amount of dirt available direct from the amp? Thanks.

I can't believe there have been no comparisons between these two yet.

Well I think that they are 2 entirely different animals if I'm correct.

We'll probably have to wait till the model is available and in the hands of folks who also know the Ray before we'll get any truly informed comparisons. But I'd still like to hear from people who played it at Z-Fest AND who know the Ray and can compare.
Any takers?

Yeah, maybe I need to post in the Ray section my question on the Ray with a Dragon wide open smack'n that Ef86. But I doubt anyone has done this as I haven't read about it yet.

That''s exactly why I may sell My Ray or not? when the Z Wreck is available , I was sitting directly in front of the one at Zfest like on the Front row and it was chimey but it also was played by some cat I didnt get his name? Sorry he wore glasses and played well ripped a Tele through it , He crankd it up into Breakup territory and I was floored! The Ray Breaks up but this was more heavier grit. It's gonna be one of the only amps that will give the Ray a run for its Money IMHO! I love my Ray but I want a Zwreck it's that good. When I played,I played through my dream amp ) a 2 channel Monster A=ch Stangray B=ch Monza! The ray had its own gain knob similar grit and breakup to the Zwreck but I played through the Monza Side and I'm still druelling thinking about it! Bring on the 2 Channel amps DR!!!!!

The Stangray stays clean right up to almost the end of the volume pot, where the Zwreck is meant to use your guitar volume pot to at low level for clean dial a little more guitar volume pot more gain and full on really bites.
The ray is a clean amp and the zwreck is for gritty lead playing which can also be back down for clean but is different from the clean you find of the Ray.
