I have a 2x12 on the way. I am going to use it with a Maz38. My plan is placing a ZBest on the bottom, the 2x12 on top, and one of PCNS' cables to drive both cabs for a big ole 4x12 feel.
My question is: On paper it seems I would need 2 ABs... 1 each after the splitter cord running 1 each to each cab. Using jsut one is going to give full power still to 1 speaker
So If I want to move all that air and have it cranked can I use 2 Airbrakes like this to manage volume?
Anyone see a problem with blowing something up doing that?

I use two cabs with one Airbrake - just put the Y cable on the output of the Airbrake.
But it sounds like maybe you WANT to run two airbrakes so you can dial each cab separately. I'm not sure if that's a supported use or not...

Thanks Steve. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess if I already had the cab and the Y cord and was hooking it up, that would have been more obvious. For some reason I was stuck on the AB needing to go after the Y in my head.
Good to know I can do it with one. Maybe I would have liked the flexibility of dialing in each cab separately, but probably not enough to justify buying a 2nd AB just to do it.

The Brakelite SA has two (!) output jacks! Brilliant little innovation. Getting one as soon as my current eBay auctions close...

I've been meaning to add a second jack to my Airbrakes forever, but I've just never had time or needed to (since I have that great Y cord from Todd's company).

double-checking that it is perfectly OK to use a Y-splitter on the Air Brake's output into two 8 ohm cabs, and plug the Air Brake into the amp's 4 ohm speaker jack? Sounds like it'd be fine as long as it's a capable Y, righty-o?
