How many watts is the 6545? I am thinking of trying a Cannabis Rex in my 1x12 but the speaker is rated at 50 watts. Just wondering if it can handle the amp. anyone know?

I thought I saw some discussion on this before where people indicated that almost all EL34 tubes are 25 watts apiece, meaning that the 6545 would normally be 50 watts...except...that GT has an EL34L that is 30 watts, so if those are in, the amp is likely able to produce 60 watts.
I'm the farthest thing from an expert so if anyone really knows, or if I'm off-base, please jump right in!
Cheers, Blair

The original SRZ-65 combos were shipped with 2 Celestion Greenbacks. So 50 watts of speaker is not unheard of with the SRZ-65 side so you should be fine. Would not run it with all controls on 10 for a long time though....just to be safe you know.

Thanks... Thats what I thought. I don't play very loud but I heard that really doesn't determine weather the speaker will blow or not.

I agree. I would just be careful running an amp that is at the edge of the speakers capacity. Kind of like with a VOX AC 30 and Blues. They sound great but since the power of an amp is usually based on RMS (Root Mean Square) that means there are transients that can be well above the RMS power level. That is what I was refering too. And if you run full out then you will have more transients. Let us know how this combo of amp and speaker sounds. Have not heard a Cannibas Rex before.

I will.... I think I will like it. I heard it is a darker tone which I like. I want to thicken up the 65 side.
