Which one gets the bulk of your playing time?

Do you mean there is another way to use this amp (HI input OD on)? ;D

First off, I never use the OD when playing out. I don't know why.
Second, I like to set it as a fairly clean platform and then use pedals. Eventually I'll have a two amp A/B setup, but for now I use the Junior alone, so I want it fairly clean. That means the HI input with the front (pre-amp) volume down around 3-4.

Thanks for the input, guys.
I voted for Hi input, No OD.
Like others, I love the cleans so I get my drive from my pedals.
I'm not too particular about EQ'ing the front. Typically, it's all 4's on the front and close to max'ing the MV.

I'm going to go against the flow and vote LO input, OD on. It seems to be a happy medium with my Tele and Strat with a few pedals. The only drive pedal I use is a BB+, but I have both gains set fairly low: I like to get as much of my drive from the amp as I can.

Hi Input, OD on. Front volume at 2 and the Master right around 11 o'clock to noon. Gets me a great clean tone with my strat.

Lo in - no OD. I like clean. Use the old pedal for some dirt now and then.

I played with a guy whose playing I really respect (more than anyone I know), and he dialed it in with the HI input and the OD on. The front end volume was at noon, the Bass and Middle around 1 o'clock and the treble rolled back to 9 o'clock.
Sounded killer. He was playing a Jaguar.
Tried it at home for a while, and I can see why a lot of people use the OD and crank everything.
After talking to the guy I play with he enlightened me on a few things that I thought were interesting:
He sets the amp to the point where it's driving (as opposed to clean). He DOESN'T use his volume control at all (it's max'd). He really uses dynamics to control his sounds. He can make it sound clean if he plays lightly and can make it drive if he plays it hard. Typically, he only gets a little bit of drive from his OD / Boost pedals so it doesn't change the tone of the amp much.
Anyhow....looks like there's a million ways to get it done. I really heard some great tones when we got together though. Cool amp. He actually preferred the RX Jr to the MAZ 18 NR.

Yeah man I would not doubt that he would like the RxJr for what described. To me it was always some where between zippy clean a little dirt so you could easily go back and fourth some what.
I miss mine but at the same time happy that I don't confuse my self by bouncing around tone wise any more.

So i ready the PDF manual for this thing and started playing around a bit. I deff. just changed my vote. I was using the amp with lo input OD on. But now im using hi input no od. The manual says hat the HI input is the " normal input" and the lo input is the same as the high input with 3db less gain. so when you actually activate the OD you add that 3db right back. It also mentioned the lo was mainly there for humbucker equiped guitars for the purpose of obtaining cleaner tones. so yea Im a Hi guy. (don't take that out of context)
