Dr. Z,
I have been noticing a recent phenomenon with my 6545 head. When I am using my amp, usually within the first 30 minutes of use, I notice an intermittent sound coming from the amp. The sound is kind of like a frying sound and can also have a swooshing sound. The swooshing sound is kind of like the sound of tuning in an old dial type radio. I have noticed this on both the 65 side and the 45 side. This has happended in multiple locations and using different instrument cables as well. I also have noticed it with and without my airbrake. Just wondering if this would be the amp having an issue or my rig picking up interference from lights or other electrical gear in the area.
Thanks
Paul

Just wanted to let you all know that the Dr has been very helpful via email on my issue. The trouble shooting involved tightening the four bolts that hold the head in the shell (This is done to make sure that the rf shield is making good contact) and re-seating the power amp tubes and the rectifier. Major improvement. I still hear some noise but the level is no where near what it was before. I am beginning to think I must have a HAM operator or the like near me. Also, due to my heavy use of the head, I am going to re-tube it soon as well. Great customer service from the Dr, as always.

No pun intended, but the Dr. rocks, and this amp is the proof.
I picked up my 6545 a while back, used, only to find that upon careful listening I was getting some nasty ghost notes and what-not. I did as much as I could without risking fatal mistakes, and sent the amp to Ohio. The Dr. provided first rate service with excellent turnaround, and I've been stellar ever since.
