You've already got 2 EL-84 based amps, I would get an SRZ or Remedy. But that's me. You will have to answer that question for yourself. The SRZ is one great amp, but like Jamie says, it isn't a particularly clean amp, so know that going into it, you are going to not be pristine clean.
And as stated before, the Remedy and SRZ overlap tonally, quite a bit. You couldn't go wrong either way, I just found the SRZ to be more flexible for my needs. Although with a couple distortion pedals and an airbrake, the Remedy is a very versatile amp too.

The Z Wreck! I have played! It's really sweet! However its not an SRZ 65 you can get more distance with the SRZ due to the killer Master volume and presence control. However the Zwreck to me sounded like tones I get when using Slight gain on my TimmyPedal using my RAY. But on ten The Zwreck really starts nailing the tones of the VOXY/RAYISH tones . I dont think I ll sell my Ray for one. The ray goes a long way too!

Right now I am using the Maz for over-drive and the ray for Clean. The SRZ is more Distortion gain than OD correct?? It also seems like it would fit in well volume wise with my Ray. One thing nice with the ray is you get sweet clean tones at fairly reasonable volumes. With the Master on the Maz JR this works pretty well. What I seem to be missing is Ball's to the wall Rock in Roll tone. Maybe an SRZ from Humbucker Black with a Green Valance or Visa Versa. Getting a tad bored with all Red. Until I fire them up. I still want to wait on the Z Wreck Demo..

Rickenbacker , The Z Wreck is like a Ray On Steroids , The SRZ is Yes alot more Gainy and Considered HIGH GAIN. However You can use the SRZ For Over Driven sounds, Over drive is what My Ray sounds like with A TIMMY in front of it, The SRZ is More Marshally, Bigger, and ENDLESS Tonal Possibilities!!! ) Do your self a favor Get an SRZ if you need a Ballsy AMP, The Z Wreck is SOO sweet but very very different animal. ;D, I'm waitng my MonzaRay!!! Hope its coming soon!

I still want to wait on the Z Wreck Demo.. If you're looking for Fat, Ballsy R-N-R TONE, the SRZ is the amp. It essentially is Doc's take on a much more refined Marshall JCM 800. And, of course, the JCM 800 is one of the greatest R-N-R amps in history (note I did say " one of"). It will give you all the crunch and distortion you'd need for any classic to current rock sounds. It'll even do scooped metal w/ the right pedal in front of it. Another amp you may want to look at is the Mazerati GT. In my opinion, it has a little more gain than the SRZ, but it is smoother, not as crunchy.

okay, reading this thread has hammered the point home that I need to look into the SRZ. being a huge Black Crowes fan, the Remedy is super appealing to me, but I need that Master Volume and the ability to be able to launch into Steeler by the Priest when the odd moment arises.
last Friday at band rehearsal, I played through an old Marshall 2205 which sounded incredible. so I started the research, internet searching, you know the drill. but then I remembered the SRZ, from my longtime lurking on here.
now I'm thinking, buy an old Marshall at inflated collector prices and have to sink more money into it to make sure is in good working order or buy a Dr Z SRZ? hmmmm... no question there.
now to sell some gear and find a good deal on an SRZ.

There is also the 6545 possibility - 2 amps for the price of 1. There is one on E-bay right now for $1,400. Get the SRZ sound and the KT 45 sound for the price of 1. KT 45 is described as Hiwatt meets Vox.

Remedy vs. SRZ? I say BOTH! ;D
No seriously, I love my SRZ for super-saturated Marshall tones, but I would love a Remedy for clean to medium break up.

Thanks for everyone's help in locating an SRZ.
I can't believe it but I now own an SRZ LE and a Remedy thanks to the endless reviews, suggestions and PM's here. Y'all really are some great peeps, thank you so very much.
All I can say is WOW! ...and I haven't really put them through a rehearsal together yet. Suffice to say I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Here it is! With the Remedy.... NICE Pic! Seriously, it never ends. Think about it, that's the one thing the Doc can't cure or even provide a remedy for. The endless fever for more Z gear.

Yeppers. I think I am developing a jones for the Jazz 20/40. Looks like a wicked grab n go combo in either 2x10 or 1x12 too.
Oh man.

Amp versatility is so often over looked, it is so easy to get hooked when you plug in at the store and some of the those hard to get tones pop out, then the tunnel vision sets in. That is what happened to me with the Remedy. Two weeks later I am trying to play some slow jazzy 7th progressions and all of the sudden the chords aren't sounding so good. No matter what I did I could not dial it in, hi volume-lo volume controls a wierd warbly thing with the chords. But with the SRZ it right there from the get go, that is versatility! From rock to jazz to the blues it is easily all there, not a one trick pony! The Remedy is gone and a new SRZ 65 sits atop the Zbest. Truely inspires for hours.

I know what you mean with reference to the SRZ. I had it quite a bit louder than the Rem yesterday. Gain around 0830. Played along with Peter Green and Jumping at Shadows. I was getting tones that nearly made me cry. I love both of these amps but when dialed in together... UN-STOPABLE!

I would think one could get Remedy tones with the SRZ, but not the other way around. At least not without pedals.

Doug you are absolutely right, the SRZ can do it all, that is why my SRZ is still here and the Remedy is collecting dust at the store!

I would think one could get Remedy tones with the SRZ, but not the other way around. At least not without pedals. I beg to differ I'm afraid. Neither (of mine at least) does the other "well" or even close. There is only one Remedy and only ONE SRZ (barring the older long box which I have ZERO interaction with). Eye of the beholder I suppose.

I dont own an SRZ, but would like to. I do own a Remedy. The non master volume was a first for me. My question is for guys that have played both, is the "touch" still there on the SRZ? After I got the Remedy I went around trying to play as many NMV amps as I could. They all have a very specific feel to them. Not really sure how to describe it.

The SRZ! Has one of the Best MV's out there. Its very usable and doesnt suck the tone out of the amp when the volume is down. The Remedy is SWEETTT!!! would Like to have a 6V6 amp but gonna wait to see what comes down the line in terms of the new Z Amps. The next amp is gonna be a 6V6 but would like Ch Switching ;D
