I've love the dynamics and feel of my Rt 66 & Maz 18 NR. Im very close to buying a JAZ, but am concerned because I have been disappointed in the strangled sound I've gotten out of every other amp with reverb & trem on board that I've owned. Any feedback from JAZ owners who also spent some time with a 66 or Maz would be greatly appreciated.

The Jaz 20/40 has the same great dynamics. I remember with '64 Tremolux it felt like the Vibrato channel sucked a lot of dynamics out of the amp. Not the case with the Jaz 20/40. Great amp that can really be smooth and full or you can drive the preamp and get some nice gritty break-up (well what I call break-up for blues). Here is an older video of the Jaz at about the 3:10 mark is my solo. Just staying on the neck pickup the whole time and using the Volume knob on the git fiddle - got just a touch of the verb on.

i have to add that the JAZ feels so fine in the palyers hand! it can chime and it can growl and then some!
cheers!

Nice playing JD! Thanks for the feedback. I think a couple of my current amps just became expendable.

I feel the dynamics there as well with the Jaz and I also own a Maz jr nr for reference. I can definitely feel a maz presence in the feel and dynamics, hence the Maz front end I suppose is the reason i feel that way . I'm making no sense... just got off work...

In short I love this amp, incredible cleans along with the swampy sounding options, and great breakup if also so desired.

I am really having a good time with the Jaz. With my Lentz Croyden (w/buckers) you can set it for some of that nice clean jangle with just a touch a bite. I used the Jaz 20/40 on 7 of the tracks on our new CD, Soul Rockin and there are some samples up at: www.houndstoothblues.com/music/ The sample of the cover of Jumpin Rockin Rhythm is the Lentz Croyden through the Jaz. Of course I recommend keeping all your Zs - everytime I sell one I regret it
