Thinking about a Monza for a small, portable gigging amp, but sometimes I really appreciate a splash of verb or delay, especially for cleaner parts.
Just wondering if Monza would get along well with my Hermida Reverb or T-Rex RoomMate?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I use delay in front and its like any other amp approached this way. Dial it in and it will work. Sounds good too.

The only time I've ever had 'trouble' with delay in front of an amp is when you are hitting the tubes hard with big distortion.
It just exaggerates the effect.

I tried using delay/reverb with the Monza. You can get it to work, but it's so sensitive because the amp is slamming so hard. An effects loop would be a great idea. Not the best amp for those kind of effects...

I play with a T-Rex Roommate or Replica in front of my non-reverb equipped Z's 99% of the time.
Don actually lost $10 to Jason last week. I was at Jason's and I brought my Monza with me. Don called and when Jason told him we were playing the Monza. Don said "I'll bet you $10 Phil's got the Room Mate in front of it.". I WASN'T (as I don't need/want reverb in front of amps like the Monza and Mazerati GT) as Frankie said. DOH!!

Not the best amp for those kind of effects... I had a similar experience. The delay repeats end up with different amounts of dirt as they diminish in volume and dip below various "thresholds" in the Monza's gain stage. Might be interesting as an effect if used very sparingly, but I didn't like it.

The MAZ 18 NR cured me of my reverb addition. The Monza continues to keep me strong ;D
but sometimes I wonder...
