As the title says. I lost as in (had to sell) my Maz18 to fund putting my car on a truck to be shipped across country (CA back home to NJ) for a move. It really sucked cuz I loved that amp, but with the Z-best I had it was wayyy too big to haul around (it was my only amp). I had bought it kind of as an impulse buy. The maz 18 head no prob, but the cab was just too much for me, sounded insane though!. So now that I realize that I only play small clubs and small jams I dont need a big huge cabinet and a 1x12 will suite me fine. I play a vinetto tele bg-50 with lollar 52's.. Hows this thing sound with a tele on high gain? I mainly play blues.. and blues/rock.. and think this amp will suite me nicely. I plan on eventually getting a "clean only" amp.. but right now my budget is about 1300$ and the Monza fits in there perfectly.. most of the nice clean amps im looking at are out of my current budget and I NEED AN AMP NOW!.. I am currently playing through a Vox AC4TV which is my bedroom amp and while I love that thing, I need some more balls!!! Oh and it must be a 1x12 in Red .. I hope humbucker music still has em in stock in a month.. or I guess ill have to order it.

Everyone seems to really like the 1-10 Monza combo with a brakelite, but I'm curious about a 1-12 as well.
Which speaker is considered "stock" or "standard issue" in a Monza 1-12? G12H30?

The 1x12 Monza does indeed come with the G12H30. I think the Monza 1x10 is more popular for a couple reasons. For the same price as the 1x12 you get a more compact, lighter weight combo with the Brake Lite already installed. In my opinion, the 1x12 does have a slightly fuller sound with a little more clarity at volume, and certainly more bass response (as expected), but the Red Fang in the 1x10 does a very nice job of closing the typical gap between a single 1x10 and a 1x12. It makes me wonder what a 2x10 Monza would sound like with Red Fang upgrades... However, at an upgraded price of $1677, I may just settle for the 1x12 I am so destined to own soon!

If the Monza has too much gain for ya maybe a Z28 in the 10" combo cab might do it for ya too. And the Z28 is capable of cleans.

tonechef:
The Monza does not do clean the way the MAZ does. I and others have described it as capable of "cleanish" tones. The gain comes on pretty quickly. If you're looking for MAZ-like pristine cleans at high volume, you should try a Monza before committing to see if it get close enough to suit. On the other hand, if you were running your MAZ more toward the gainy end (volume up fairly high, e.g.), then you'll probably love the Monza.
I have my first gig with the Monza tomorrow night. At least that's the current plan. I need some amount of clean for the repertoire, and this will be the test case. I'll report back.
If you can, do try the Monza before you decide. It is very impressive. The Brake Lite is a must IMO.
