I recently bought a closed-back Avatar 2x12 cabinet with 30 watt Weber ceramic Silver Bells for use with my SRZ, and I just got a chance to try the pair together. To say the least, I like it alot! The closed back is new to me, so I'm making some EQ adjustments. I normally run the bass and mids @ full and treble @ noon, but with this cab I'm pulling the bass and mids back and putting the treble up. Anyway, it's a good match, and it did notably cut down on volume. If I could get the grill redone in black or red it would be perfect (it's the Fender silver grill).

I was plugging into my KT45 combo's speakers, which were a pair of Celestion 70th anny G12H30s, open back. It was a notable change, but I wouldn't quite say as much as one click on an Airbrake. I think the darker tone of the Avatar cab also adds to that perception.

thanks. i'm just trying to figure out how much i can cut down on volume at home. using my airbrake helps a lot, but i need to set up a cab with some less efficient speakers, to take it down even further.
