Wow, I'd say $1550 was one heck of a deal considering there are only 35 serial-numbered ones out there and hard to find a preowned one! Congratulations to the new owner in Fargo.

Oy. I am still having did-not-buy-remorse. I just keep telling myself that 65W is easily twice my needs...

You're right - they do sound amazing. I love mine. Man, I feel bad for the folks who missed this amp. Really bad. No, seriously ... I really feel bad for them. Great amp. Did I already say that I agree they sound amazing?

LE #8 is for trade in The Gear Page forums right now. I think you have to be logged in to see the thread, but he says he's looking to trade it for a high gain channel swicther, like a Mesa Mark IV. www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=255758

I thought that he's also asking for best offer as well. I dunno, it's a little unclear. he lists it as for trade, says he's looking for a Mark IV, then: "Other than that, hit me with what you have to offer. Like I said, I want a channel switching amplifier. It must have a clean and a relatively high gain channel. I'm not interested in combo amps." if somone wants it, I'm sure it couldn't hurt to offer some money. after all, I've heard that stuff can be used to obtain a vast variety of goods and services.

Thanks for the heads up. i would have missed that TGP ad if I hadn't been checking out Z-talk. Considering the last ebay one went for $1550 and there's another one on ebay w/ a BIN of $1900, I thought $1350 was a great price. I'm going to match it w/ a red Z-best cab I have that is loaded w/ webers - blue and silver. Ii let the gang know how it sounds once it arrives.

Thank you for buying that one. It was painful to watch it sit there at such a squeal of a deal. Must resist... must hold out for more gain and less watts...
Btw, I really like your site and the whole "whiskey-soaked psycho-billy musical assault team" thing you have going on there. The SRZ should add some serious attitude to Folsom Prison Blues.

Those audio files on our website are pretty weak. A fan recorded them at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. What you're hearing is the sound as recorded by her Sony Handi-Cam. Not really high-fidelity, but neither is the band.... The house system at the Viper Room had Marshall DSL 100's. the whole EL-34 thing sounded great. It was a sound my Rt66 and Maz Sr just weren't getting on their own. One of Sean's COT50's on the front end got it there, but once I did some "Z" research and found out that the SRZ was powered by 34's, the search began. My thinking is to run my guitars into a cab splitter, Rt66 for "clean" and SRZ for the "dirty". Both heads will then run into a Z-best w/ Weber blue and silver. The cab is red and the 66 is black. I think it'll look sweet!!!!! -Surreal McCoy

I think that down the road you will see these even more sought after. Carl Verheyen just finished a six week tour in Europe where the SRZ-65 was the heart of his rig and received constant questions about the amp. Since the tour I have also been asked a lot of questions on how I set his amps up for the tour and have been asked a lot where can they get one.
The SRZ-65 is THE amp of rock for "Marshallesque" tone fans.

His distortion side is an SRZ-65 and 100 watt Plexi fed by the SRZ-65 where the Plexi is just used for the output section for the wet side of the rig. His clean side of the rig is a Fender BF Twin Reverb and a Vox AC30 played together. No tone shaping or enfluence via the Plexi 100, in fact, the entire preamp section is bypassed and the tone controls do nothing. It is fed from a speaker output of the SRZ-65 converted to a level to hit the Marshall phase inverter and then to the output of the Marshall. That hits one cab, the wet (effects) side of the rig. The dry side of the rig and heart of the rig is the SRZ-65 which feeds it's own cab. Both the Fender and Vox amps are combos with their own original speakers.

Myles:
My intent is to run both the 66 and the SRZ through the same Z-best cab. Is this what Carl is doing? If it is, what is he using as a head switcher? Radial Headbone VT is the only one I'm familiar with.
Thanks - Surreal McCoy

Surreal McCoy, Glad it went to a fellow forum-ite. I love mine, and I’m sure you’ll love yours too. I can my Rt. 66 and SRZ-65 in stereo once using my band-mates Rickenbacker and Rick-O-Sound. It was truly a tone to move mountains. I checked out your site as well. Good stuff! My band is playing with Uncle Leon & The Alibis www.myspace.com/uncleleon tomorrow night. Seems like something you might dig. Let me know if you’re playing Chicago. -Maction

Thanks - Surreal McCoy No, Carl runs each amp with it's own cab but what you want to do works great and the Radial Engineering unit is quite nice. You will have a darn cool rig when it's all done!

Maction:
Just got into wireless range again..... Been on a family vacation in Yellowstone and the new SRZ is waiting in a box on the floor of my office!!!!! I'm ready to trade the camping/elk and bear sitings in for a few hours with the SRZ....
We've got gigs coming up in South Bend Indiana the Friday night of the ND vs. Michigan State University game the weekend of the 21st of September. It's 2 hours from Chicago, but we've been working on a Wheel of Fortune. A big wheel with some of our tunes and some booby prizes on the wheel - swing by S. Bend, it should be fun as we unveil the Wheel of Fortune....
