UPS made it through the snow storm and dropped my new blonde Monza 1x10 combo off at my office. I shot the below video at 8pm in a NYC office building (3 clicks in on the brakelite) - I am far from pro, but thought some of you would want to just hear a regular joe plug straight in, no effects with a $400.00 guitar. This amp is just a blast to play! s10.photobucket.com/albums/a127/Plexed2/Music%20Gear/?action=view¤t=DrZMonza.flv

Congrats!
Where do you work?
I've always wanted to work at a place where I can take a break and crank up the guitar and my Dr. Z amp... ;D

I agree with everyone on the forum, a brake-lite is necessary with this one. Running the amp wide open is just so loud it's incredible. I have my own office, but this was after hours, 3 clicks in on the brake-lite. The good news is the brake-lite did not take away any of the tone or dynamics of the amp. Just a really wonderful sounding little rock-n-roll machine!

Nice job. Man ever since Z-Fest I can't get that stupid amp off my mind. Gotta get a part time job to get one order ASAP!

Congrats on the new amp. BL on 3 has it plenty loud for me. BL on 2 with vol and drive down provides a loud cleanish sound. This amp really encourages exploring using the guitar's volume control to generate overdrive and grit, as do all the other Zs I've played.

Where did you get your blonde? It seems that several dealers are awaiting theirs, so I'm hoping this means a batch o' blondes has been built and on its way to dealers.

I ordered the blond from Fat Sound Guitars. The amp came in this past week, but I put a deposit down last week. I worked with Mike Ayers, who did some of the Monza clips on their site. I should mention that Fat Sound & Mike were a pleasure to deal with. The Monza arrived 2 days after it was shipped, packed professionally with no issues.

I've gotten really great service from Fat Sound, too. I messed up by not ordering from them. I had talked to Mike even before you did - that amp would have been mine! The place I did order from told me it would be two weeks, then four weeks and now they're telling me six weeks. Live and learn.

Thanks again for all the good feedback! I have heard much talk about how loud the Monza is, this is true in my experience. I did notice that by going out the 4 ohm tap instead of the 8 ohm tap into the Red Fang 1x10 the volume was reduced by a bit. I do believe running 4 ohms into a 8 ohm speaker is safe, but it would be helpful if someone here could advise if this is safe or not?

I think Dr Z himself has said this is OK, i.e., will not damage the amp. Others will chime in, and you might try searching other sections of Z Talk, as I know I've seen threads on this.

Yes, I have played the Mazerati GT through a 2x12 not a Z-best unfortunately. I do agree, we are not talking that level of volume here, but the Monza has tone for sure! Both amps in my opinion have great complex high gain tones with clarity. The Monza is so great to me, because you can this sound in a grab & go amp!

Nice vid great sounding amp. I'm a little skeptical od the 110 thing, but all y'all seem to be fans of the red fang in these little guys. How's the low end? I don't guess anybody's had a chance to A/B the 110 vs the 112.
