My first post in the forum and the first post on this board. ;D I'm the proud owner of a red SRZ-65 head. It's easily my favorite amp that I've ever owned, and for the type of band I'm in right now (loud, fast, sleazy, rock 'n' roll) my favorite amp I've ever played through. People have asked me what the amp sounds like, and I usually them "like a plexi and a Hiwatt had a baby." To my ear, it really captures the best qualities of both. Until this amp, I've never been able to find one that crunches the way I like. Most amps don't have the right impact throughout their entire range, they'll either get fuzzy, flubby, or buzzy in either the high or low end. The SRZ-65 keeps it tight but overdriven throughout. It somehow seems to have more bandwidth than other amps. OK, I won't go on forever.

Welcome to the Z forum.Great amp you have there! I just got my 6545 & I am really feeling it's vibe. Your description is right on in terms of how to explain what the 65 side of the amp sounds like.

I'm lovin my 65 too! I've owned ton's of amps and nothing compares to it (the closest was maybe a vox AC-50 head that I had for a while). The 65 really does capture that plexi/hiwatt sound. My buddy has one of the 70's Hiwatts and the 65 is just a bit tighter in the mids. They compliment each other well though. Mine's actually a srz65-H that originally had kt88's in it. Anybody else got one of these?
