I'm really sorry Joel about that - but I can see from the picture you ain't a young man any more. ;D That's just middle age creepin' up on ya ( duck & cover ) You'd better buy one of them elixirs from one of your travelling medicine shows. ;D ( Ol' Ma Perkin's secret snake-pee-seaweed recipe for failing abilities ) Freely translated from Summertime Blues: "There aint no cure for the hearing Route blues".... "Dr.T" - No I don't - my Route is the export version - that's what delayed the delivery so. The Doc was waiting for those 230 volt power transformers from his sub-contractor. Just plug and go. But I'll just add a small gripe: The amp and cab was delivered to me without a) slips/covers, b) no cable between cab and head - and c) no power cord. Now c) I can understand - it's messy if not terribly difficult to keep track of all the connecting standards all over the world. That could and should I think - be worked out together between Dr-Z amps and in my case - the Norwegian agent. But a) and b) - not including cable & slips with an expensive amp like this, seems a bit cheap to me. It's the same as buying that brand new 35.000$ car and you don't even get a real spare tire to go with it. ( all too common BTW ) Cheers: Dixiechicken

Gosh, our little Route 66 is so international isn't it? We are from The US, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Australia and I remember Fanzen from Denmark. Am I forgetting anyone?

We who live in Sweden obviously get the "American export model" i.e. 17 3/4" luxury wide head. ;D Are there any poor sods out there who has the"minivan" model - a measly 17 1/2" "thin" model. As I'm sure you all know we are famous for excellent wide roads and highways in Sweden , so we can in grand deservedly style - accommodate the true American models. ;D Cheers: Dixiechicken

"fisholot" - Yes - in the first two sessions alone in the rehearsal studio - I found it easier to get a good sound with the les Paul. (i.e. a sound I liked ) The Telecaster took more tweaking. This may get me work my "Lester" a bit more. I have been playing the Tele mostly these last years. My Les Paul really need a proper fret-job, the frets are totally worn down. Next years project perhaps. Cheers: Dixiechicken

Those will cure anything - at least it feels that way. Did you know that during the 30:ies when the "mob" made fortunes on selling illegal imported and mooshine booze - the Laphroaigh got imported as medicine to th US - the toll authorities never caught on - coudn't imagine anything smelling like that - was drinkable. DC...
When I first got my 66, I thought I would only end up using humbucker guitars with it. I didn't care for the sound of my tele through it.
I have all three knobs set on three...and an Airbrake.
But I have since come to love the tele through it. I do drop the treble on the amp down to 1:00. And I have to rely on a good OD or boost pedal a bit more for solos.

Oh I was waiting for internat R66 voltage. Now I have to ask if it's possible to modify the internal transformer to convert it to the 220v and let the step down transformer at home.

"Dr.T" - DC here! Right off the bat - it sounds difficult and messy if you ask me. My guess is you must change out the power transformer - that would probably be cheaper too. (faster to swap than modify)

DC Here.
Some folks have mentioned it so I will only confirm.
The new 2x10" cab (removable backplate) is small and compact, weighs about only 18.6 Kg - it's easy to lift a carry shorter distances.
The head weigh about 10 Kg - it's relatively small size is deceiving - makes it feel heavier than than cab - although it really is not.

Tonight we I did the first rehearsal with the complete band. (Ok the trpt-player was missing - we have couple of gigs coming up in beginning of November )
Still we checked out 6 new songs with new hornparts and all. So I had the hornplayers pointing out to me what I did wrong this time. Well there's no denying it - finally I have the best sound I ever had from an amp. With the Minimass ( I used it on the rehearsal ) I should be able to cover any venue/occasion. When things have calmed down a bit I shall try to get around to provide a few soundclips. Cheers: Dixiechicken
