No...I didn't like the Greenback with the Rx any more than the Gold....I like the G12H30.
I think this Gold should be well broken in...and just for comparisons, I tired my other Gold that I've been using with my Rt. 66, and they sound the same.
Just looking for a speaker that will warm the highs a touch...other than that, all else is fine, and I agree, the Rx has a bit more high-end glassiness than other amps.

I still wouldnt rule out a Weber Blue....they come in 15, 30, 50, and maybe even 100 watt models and according to the Weber site and what Ive heard from others here...they get mellower/smoother as the wattage handling goes up. The 15 watt is the brightest...50 or 100 watt would be the smoothest...and the Alnico version would be even smoother when pushed hard and compress more.
If I get a chance I'll run my RxES through my Gold by itself, then through a 30 Watt Weber Ceramic Blue and tell ya what I think about it.

I appreciate that.
I've never played through a Weber Blue...but I always thought they were very much like the Celestion Blue (aka the Gold in higher wattage)...that big Vox chime sound, which is probably at the core of my tonal issue at the moment.
But yeah....I've seen the Weber comments about their higher wattage Blues being smoother than the low wattage model.
