I'm really looking for the SRV clean and dirt tone and someone pointed me in the direction of the KT 45. How does the tone of this amp compare to the EZG and JAZ for trying to get that sound? I heard the KT breaks up beautifully which is def a plus for me, but does the clean sound good too? (think wind cries mary or one rainy wish by hendrix). For the dirt I want an amp that stevie or jimi would buy if they were alive today.
Also, how does this amp sound with the fulltone OCD?
Any help would be awesome.

I dont own any of the three but i have played them so i will other my opinions on how they sound
The EZG has a full sound, not necessarily thick, but just right, lots of lowend. the overdrive is quite smooth sounding but it will be fairly loud depending on what speaker you use. and the reverb is amazing
the KT, at least to me, was too bright for my taste (but maybe it was the speaker, i dont remember what kind it was though) and quite loud. if my memory serves me i believe it was louder than the EZG and i didnt even get up to overdrive volume. now that i think about it, maybe it was running thru a 4x10, so that may explain the volume and brightness.
the Jaz is in-between the fuller sounding EZG and brighter KT IMO. the overdrive was more crunchy than smooth (but that will depend on kind/type of pickups, i was using a PRS Mira) and i didnt get tooooo much time to try it out so i didnt really get to set it up perfect or in various ways. this amp might be a good choice for you for dirt at low volumes
anyways, for Stevie i would say EZG-50, and based on what others have said i would recommend the Remedy or RT 66 for Jimi. I hope someone with more experience with these amps and tones will chime in though, cause i dont normally try and shoot for other people's tones, i set the amp to what sounds good to me, even though that may vary from amp to amp.

I owned a KT-45. Great amp with my all-time favorite crunch sound. But it won't give you SRV or Jimi tones. EZG50 would be good for SRV and The Remedy would probably be good for Jimi. I own a Route 66. It's another wonderful amp but not the best choice for Jimi or SRV tones.

Check out John Peach's demo of the EZG50 for some SRV tones.

Check out John Peach's demo of the EZG50 for some SRV tones. You beat me to it! Heck, the Dr. Z website calls it the classic "El Mocambo" tone. That'd be my choice for that style of music. The EZG does break up nicely as well, but as people have mentioned....it will depend heavily on the speaker and volume you play at as to whether or not it will be "enough." Also, gotta have the 'Verb to get that sound. EZG-50 can do it well.
