I currently own and have owned others Z amps but not a Galaxie.
I got this one from one of the Z-Talk forum members.
Does anyone know where I can get/download the owner's manual? It is not on the Z site.
Additionally, if I change the preamp tube for Ch.1 to a 12AT or 12AU will I still have the volume but more clean headroom?

larryw, first, congrats on your new Galaxie. is it a combo or head? either way, good score! as for a manual? not sure. basically, keep in mind that the 1st channel is that late 50s tweed sound - think Super, Pro and low-powered Twin; and, channel 2 is hot rockin' goodness. also, the tone controls do a nice gain when set past 12:00. what else? triode/pentode switch on the back for a choice of 30 or 40 watts. and, the speaker extension is rated at 8 ohms and the main speaker extension is 8 ohms ... yes you can run into two separate 8 ohm speaker set-ups at the same time. as for the pre-amp change? I do not know much about subbing a 12at or 12au ... but a 5751 can be safely placed somewhere in the front end iircso now what? plug it in. turn it up. and play! it will cover all sorts of styles and sounds and works nicely with all sorts of different guitars cheers always, eh Joel

Wow!!! What an amp. I used it in combination with my MAZ 18 NR and my 65 London Friday night and was thrilled at the sounds I could get.
Sat night I used only the Gal with a Kelley Katana and my NoCaster. Different band.....straight ahead classic rock........the guys were blown away with the tone.
I am loving this thing.
It is the 112 combo.
I go email back from Brent telling me to try the 12AY7 in V1. So I may give that a try just to have a bit more clean headroom from channel 1.
