Man super bummed today. I have been waiting to see what the Humbucker Surf Green EZG combo looks like and it look like this Jazz. It's cool, but what's the deal with the black around the grill cloth? This isn't a special order by Humbucker this way. This is how all the EZG and Jazz combo's come reguardless of color. So the only color of EZG or Jazz you can get that looks correct {or at least in my eyes} is the black combo. To me they are ruining the coolest looking amp they have. Just imagine for a couple seconds what the combos could look like by taking these heads and streching them out. All those cool colors but in this shape. Just think how cool this would be. EVEN MORE BAD NEWS JUST CAME TO ME VIA EMAIL. BITING MY TONGUE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! DAVE

I like the black the most. I kinda like the two tone, but not enough to buy it. I might like the Creame & Black, but can you not visualize the solid color amp in any other color than black?
I'll come right out and say:
[glow=red,2,300]I think this sucks!!!![/glow]

Wonder what the sales numbers are of solid color heads verse two tone heads are. Also wonder what the number of solid color combos are verse two tone combos.
Was seriously thinking about stupidly breaking in a new credit card today, but no!!!!!!!!!

Dave, buy it, and then if you decide you can't live with it, just send it over here - yeah, that's the ticket!

I wanted my JAZ Red on Red with Salt and Peppah, but it's valence is black. When I'm playing it's behind me.
FYI - Nubtex is not expensive for a DIY.

That still makes it 1/10th. Combos: 48 solid 3 two tone 8 EZG or Jazz I missed 0 combos and they have 59 combos. That makes 16x's the number of solid combos Cabs: 1 solid 2 two tone They do have 50% more two tone cabs, but that goes hand and hand with the Stangray heads they have and the solid 2x12 is sold. When you can't complain about the quality of an amp, you have to complain about the colour.

When you can't complain about the quality of an amp, you have to complain about the colour. Well that is their fault also. If they didn't offer three colors I wouldn't want it in a said color. I would have been happy with just black, but I would like just Cream, or just Red, or even better solid Surf Green. $2100 I'd like to enjoy what it looks like and I don't enjoy the two tone enough.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I chose a red Stangray because it looks awesome. I just found it funny. When the amp is already perfect, resort to how awesome it looks.

Just buy the surf green head and a surf green cab to match. To me, combo amps are just too heavy these days. Cabs are more fun anyways because they're easy to mix and match. I mean....the head weighs 40+ lbs by itself. I can imagine a combo is pushing 70+. If you're gigging a lot, then that's a big load to carry in one hand. I'd rather have two smaller items.
Just my two cents. As usual everyone's got their own thoughts and feelings on the issue.

I might end up doing the head thing, but all my amps are combos as of right now. Not an issue right now but combos only require one road case and head/cab requires two cases. Cases are $200-500 per case. This will become very important when the day comes and I load all my stuff up and jump on a plane and move away from here. Which is part of the reason I want the best stuff not alot of stuff as I'm only taking a small amount of cloths and music gear.
So, the black combo might not be out of the question, but there is no need to jump right now. I'm not GASing for another black amp that I don't really need. But, an all Surf Green would have equaled a sale for Humbucker yesterday.

...and if my Ford dealer had a 2010 Excursion in White with tan leather and a V10 it would have meant a sale today too.
When I ordered my Stangray I wanted Red on Red. I was told it didn't come that way so I chose Red and Black. I also got a matching 2x12 Blues cab. Now I can use that cab with my new JAZ... even though I won't be looking at it.
Sometimes it is the way it is.

Could it be because of the oval shape of the speaker cut out? Possibly to difficult/time consuming to cut and notch the tolex to make it look nice and neat? And that's why they went with the spray on?
I'm not a tolex redo-er so I don't know how easy it is to form it around the oval opening.
I know that on pool tables they have to cut a couple/few notches in the felt so that they can wrap it around the shape of the pockets.
