Do you think I can run a single G12H30 or a Greenback as long as I keep the volume down with an attenuator and keep it really clean?
If I put my Air Brake on click 2 or 3, then it would be cutting the power down to 15-20 watts, right?

I run my EZG with a single G12H30. I keep the pre volume around 1:00 and the post around 10:00. So far so good.

I'm thinking I might try my Greenback to keep the base down a tad. I understand the G12-65 is similar to a Greenback. I'll keep the volume extra low to be safe.
I'll report back in a day or two.

I used mine with a Celestion Blue last night. I kept the volume at about half. I did have to add a bit more mid and bass to please my ears. Cool tonal variation. Just don't max the volume and you should be ok.

I think it depends on what you are after. Headroom or added speaker compression/distortion?
My Dr. Z 1x12 with a 65 watt Heritage speaker sounds great, but when you push the EZG-50, you can tell the speaker is working hard. For clean sounds, I prefer to run the amp at lower volumes anyway, so this is fine by me.
On the other hand, my 4x12 Orange yawns at the effort needed to push the EZG-50, even at high volumes. Sounds great though and seems to have both more headroom and low end- not that this amp needs more lows!
