Hi Guys I know you've been through this a million times but I needs some help here. I love the amp ,Rx Jr 1 x 12 combo, but I find it a little buzzy on the high end. It currently has a Celestion G12-65 in it. It sounds great clean. The lows and mids are beautiful, but any distortion or overdrive is buzzy on the high end. I use pedals and play blues/ blues rock / classic rock with mostly strats. I've been through the tube thing.( by the way this forum has been invaluable here with tube info.) Thanks a bunch. Pre-amp tubes have taken care of 75% of it. I tried an Eminence Private Jack. No bottom end and in your face. The Weber people (good folk) recommended a Ceramic Blue Dog. Any thoughts? What about Scumbacks? Thanks - Desperate Old Dog

a g-12h would take the buzz out, a blue sounds good too.

I'm not a big fan of the AlNiCos for distorted tones w/ the RXJr. I have a 4X10 w/ two AlNiCo Blue Pups and two AlNiCo Silver 10"s. It is spectacular run clean, but it is my least favorite for distorted. My favorite speaker(s) for distorted tones w/ the RXJr are Weber's Greenback varieties. The C1225 and the C1230 are phenomenal.

Ditto on this. Alternatively, I'd suggest a Celestion Heritage Greenback - pricier than a MIC Greenback, but much nicer - or a Vintage 30. Both of these are ceramic speakers, great for 70s classic rock crunch and blues.

I use the Celestion V30 and G12H in an open back cab, or a Vintage 30 by itself and they sound great. The speakers are very well broken in so there's no issue with the "ice pick".

I'm using the G12H30 and a Celestion Blue together and they cover sweet clean and distortion very well. They are very balanced as both are 100 db sensitivity speakers.
Highly recommended!

I've got a G12H in a 112 Z cab and it works great distorted and clean. Lots of low end and rich mids. I wasn't a fan of the V30.
