Here's a video of my band at a HUGE local bar "Whiskey Tango" (capacity is 5000) in Grain Valley, MO.
Please excuse the sound quality...it's a fairly mid-range video camera (about 3 years ago that is) and the sound was all compressed through the built-in condensor mic. So it's not really a good representation of what we sound like live. But you can see the stage show and at least HEAR the song. The lights were done by a friend of ours who owns a concert lighting company "RADs FX".

Thanks...it's all about the PCNS Cables! (Todd does that get me some freebies yet? lol j/k)
It's great to play on a stage big enough to take the airbrake off and really let that Stang SING! We don't play too many places where I can do that. The PA is all my stuff as well...I've got a sound company and the place where this was taken is the ONLY place we play at the moment where I can really open it up and let it work. All JBL stuff with Crown power built-in. It sounds absolutely stunning. Awesome platform to run my guitar rig through though for sure.

LOL...cool deal. We actually started this band in August of 1993 and it's gone through several changes (including name changes) over the years. But the core of the band has remained the same. The singer, drummer and I have been together most all of that time.

What kind mic are you using on your cabinet and technique?

The mic is a Sennheiser e906 with the switch set to boost highs. I mic the left speaker which is a Weber British Alnico Silver Bell with the mic about 2 inches inside the edge of the actual speaker in the 9-o'clock position and always within 1/2" of the speaker grill.
Hopefully that makes sense! lol I don't wind up doing much re-equing on the mixer. I pad the channel with a 100hz hi-pass, boost a little low end (very little), roll off some 400hz, boost slightly at 2-3khz and roll off about 3dB on the highs. I don't use any outboard compression or gating...ALL of the eq adjustments are simply to keep the monitors from becoming annoying to the ears. If I were simply mixing for front of house only, I wouldn't be re-equing at all. Unfortunately ONLY this place (where the video was taken) is large enough to be able to ignore the monitors in the room. Everywhere else the monitors can usually be heard if they need to be past a certain volume level. Here that's not the case at all.
