waters, I see you have a Maz Jr. NR 1x12 there. Can you give us a comparison of the two amps as far as your impressions of tone, dynamics (feel), saturation (does the JAZ respond differently than the Maz) etc.? I'm curious if I had the Jaz if I'd want to keep the Maz or just keep one or the other. I'm really jonesing for the trem in the Jaz, but I love my Maz Jr.

Steve, The JAZ is a great amp. The reverb and the trem are awesome. The half power switch is very versatile.
Having said that, there's nothing, not an amp made that I've heard or played, that does what my MAZ Jr NR does, especially with a Strat. It's been my #1 amp for years and still is.
The JAZ has a similar (in the same ballpark) saturation, but it is different due to the 6V6's. Hard to explain in words but it just feels different. The MAZ NR, maybe because of the cut control or lack of reverb circuitry, just has that extra juicy feel and sustain that I love.

It would take something pretty amazing to dislodge it from here... Might just have to have both in that case....

Steve, first day impressions I would agree with Phil and his take on jaz vs. the maz. I love the maz jr nr, I got it in '06 and pretty much new it was going no where when the jaz arrived. I am liking the jaz a lot though, great cleans, od, and loud. I plan on using the jaz cleans and the maz or ghia cranked up next to it this weekend with an a/b pedal.

;D The Jaz was dropped off today by UPS around 10 and conveniently I didn't have to work today so most of it has been spent playing guitar. I am very happy to agree with all the great things that have been said about this amp so far! It sounds amazing and the trem and verb are so lush and thick. This should be it now for amps... Very very nice set up. ;D

;D Very very nice set up. ;D Thanks, I am liking it so far! I am going to give it a try with the 2x10 pictured and a 1x12 blue cab when I get home from work. It should sound pretty good I'm guessing.
