Now that's funny! It is out of sight and out of mind, isn't it? I leave mine on 4 all the time at home so I'll probably forget about it, too.

Steve,
What a teaser of a subject title. LMAO. At least you didn't replace the "worn out" power tubes before figuring it out. I've had my BL for about a month now and I'm finally getting used to the 4 setting. 1 through 3 don't really require an EQ tweak but I've found that the highest setting needs a bit.

I think it sounds pretty bad on anything lower than two clicks.

I think my problem is not the brake lite, I just like the amp to be loud enough to get the speakers working a bit. When I go beyond #1 I loose enough volume to not push the speakers. Solution: I bought some plexiglass to put in front on my amp

Well, I played a few gigs with the Brake Lite and for me that is where it shines. I had it on one click for my loud band (Remedy) and for my less-loud band two clicks (Maz 18). Fantastic!!!

The Brake Lite and the Airbrake are both working man's tools to get what is needed on a live stage. They work nice at home too, but I agree they really shine on a live stage.

If you attenuate past 2 on the dial of the Brake Lite, I have found that some eq adjustments have to be made on the amp. Especially if you use a guitar with humbuckers...you start losing some of the clarity.
