That might be the highest tone/dollar ratio I've ever seen!
There's another EZG with a starting bid of $1000 on the 'Bay right now......

Words escape me... The buyer lucked out. The seller took a huge loss monetary and tone wise!

I was watching that auction and was tempted to put in a $1000 bid at the last second. There was also a Z-best cab from same seller that went for $405!!!

I was watching that also. Id really be surprised if the seller actually ended up letting that go for that much. If so, he gave it away.

Can he actually do that?...back out on an auction after it has closed? I don't know what he was thinking with a reserve price so low. I am actually bummed that i missed out on it. I picked mine up last week for $1300 (shipped), which at the time I thought I was getting away with one.

Theres a lot of dodgey stuff that goes on in Ebay. Dont take too much notice of what goes on there. There are some definite bargains to be found there, but you are also taking a chance sometimes in getting a lemon or a seller just fishing to see what his stuff is worth. I think if you are interested in buying something second hand regarding a Dr Z amp your best bet is buying something out of the Buy and Sell section on here from a senior member of the forum if the price is right. There are numerous good folk on here that will not screw you over and do everything to make sure you come to a reasonable, amicable deal with them.

I watched this auction.......shocked as well. Like Chadley, I just got one for a great price (or so I thought), but it wasn't $970.

Call me cynical, but somehow this auction doesn't pass the most basic smell test: common sense.
Anyone who knows enough about gear to seek out a Z amp surely is smart enough to have a better idea as to it's value.
Nope, something's not exactly right here. Yes, sometimes bargains appear on the 'bay, but never from an owner who was actually the user; most often by a seller who just came by an item in some sideways fashion and doesn't really know it's value.
Signed,
Cynical Eddie

I was watching this auction, but couldn't bid because I haven't sold my current amp yet. I emailed the seller as to why he was selling the EZG and he said he had bought a Mesa Boogie ElectraDyne since the EZG didn't get dirty enough for him. Sounded legit and his rating seems to be fairly positive. Sometimes you need something to move fast and you price it accordingly. Some people don't have to worry about money so much.
