Hey guys,
I have been a Z player for a long time now and I had been stuck on the Z28 for about 4 years (the longest time I have ever owned any amp.....by far!). I kind of started wishing that the Z28 had verb and some more headroom so I started looking. Anyway, I just picked up a second hand EZG-50 head from a guy on TGP for a very fair price.
Needless to say, I am stoked. Many of your reviews, raves and clips around here were what motivated me to make this switch. The clean headroom, the EQ and fabulous reverb were all major draws on this amp. Plus I have always really enjoyed the BF style clean sound and was really excited to hear that the Doctor decided to take it on. Now I just need to find the proper cab to pair it with. Thoughts?

And, if the 410 is too big for you, it also sounds huge with the 210, which is what I have. For my ears though, it still doesn't quite hit the mark of the Z best that I tried it through... wow! That, to me is tone heaven. Don't get me wrong, I love my convertible 210, for its portability as well... but that Z best.... damn!

I think that the Zbest EZG pairing rocks...but so does the 210 convertable and the 112 G1265!

i currently have an Avatar open back 2x12 cab (NOT a Z-Best, I know!). I am thinking about ordering the Z 2x10 cab to match. I would really like it for portability and variety as well. How do you guys think it behaves with a 2x10 compared to a 2x12 cab?

I have a 4X10 and a 1X15. The jury is still out on which one sounds better.

Hey guys,
I decided to pull the trigger on a matching 2x10 cab from Humbucker Music (seems like the best place on the web to buy Dr. Z stuff). I was THIS close to buying one of the surf green cabs.....too cool.
Anyway, I figured since I already have a 2x12 cab, it might be really nice to have a smaller cab for portability and to control volume a bit when gigging. I used to have a Carmen Ghia 2x10 combo which I totally loved and should have never sold. The Doc's 10's sound pretty killer. I am looking forward to getting the cab and the head some time early next week. Full tone report to come.

Be prepared to be blown away. The 210 and EZG are great together... I'm still thrown by how punchy it is and how much bass it has!
Good bass!

Hey guys, My EZG-50 showed up last night. I got a chance this morning to turn it up a bit in my studio and tinker around with it. I did a quick clip. Let me know what you think! Needless to say, this amp is killing me. It is everything I had hoped that it would be. Superb reverb, brilliant high end, big fat bottom and clean head room for days. I will give a more indepth review in the coming weeks. Here is the clip www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=981779Signal chain is: Strat with Suhr Fletcher_Landau PU's, Tim OD pedal (set for a very slight break up and slightly attenuated lows), EZG-50 into single Celestion Greenback. Cheers!
