I've got an RX ES with the 2 X 12 configuration. Is there a safe way to run my 2 x 12 8 ohm Mesa Cabinet in addition to the 2 on-board speakers. I'd actually like to get a Z Best 2 x 12 Extension but until budget allows I was hoping to run the RX ES as a 4 X 12 and wasn't sure how to do it right without damaging the amp. Thanks.

i have somewhat of the same question. I have an older (2000) RX (non-ES) 2x12 and I have a mesa boogie 2x12 extension. I run the RX into it's own speakers via the 4 ohm output. I emailed the Doc and asked if it's okay to just plug in my 8ohm mesa into the 8 ohm jack in addition to running the on board speakers in the 4 ohm jack. He said that's just fine. I don't know much about impedence, but this somehow seems iffy to me...nonetheless, nothing has blown up yet!! if any of you electricians out there have advise, it would be appreciated.
