I have been playing my EZG50 through my Z-best lately. I am really diggin' the sound. Loaded with a Celestion G12H30 and a Hellatone 60...this is one bad azzed rig. Can't wait to play her out tomorrow night. Cowboy Up! ;D
Anybody else like the Evan/Zbest combo?

It was actually the Z-best that I used when I became sold on the EZG... fantastic combo! I'm now using the 2x10 convertible and am happy as a clam, but that combo of Evan and Z-best is formidable indeed!

When I first got my EZG I had a 4X10 on order and was using the Z-Best. I told Doc that my ears didn't want to hear a closed back Celestion loaded cab (as great as it is) with a "Fender" type amp, and I was really jonesin' for the 4X10. I got the 4X10 and it sounds great, but... after Z-Fest I came home and plugged into the EZG and Z-Best again...WOW! What was I thinking before? What a great sound with a Strat! I've been glued to that amp/cab for the last three weeks (sorry Remedy....). I told Doc I was and idiot a year ago Doc replied "A Z-Best will improve any amps tone by 50%". Oh yeah...

Some day I'm going to have to pick up a Zbest cab for my collection. Everybody seems to love them and all three of the heads I have would sound great through it.

sorry this is off thread... Matt, a Maz 18nr pushing a ZBest is a thing of beauty. I've no doubt the EGZ50 though the ZBest would be great. The Ray through a Zbest rocks!

Your Avatar has my cousin in it! Little Jimmy Dickens is a distant cousin of mine...4th or 5th. Anywho...
I just posted on the Maz Jr, forum about my first gig with my new (new to me loaded with Hellatone versions of the standard speakers) Z-Best. With a Jr it absolutely killed. Badass big tone with lots of slice, but not icepicky at all. Very cool!
I've said it before, but this just confirmed my thoughts. The 10" speakers lead the Maz in a decidedly Fender direction and the Celestion 12" speakers take it in that Brit direction.
Now I have to get my EZG-50 cranked up through the Z-Best and see what happens. Hiwatt? I can't see it being an improvement over the z 4 x10 matched with the EZG...That can't be improved on, but different and equally cool is a possibility.

I have a red EZG-50 and cab on the way. I went with a 1x12 cabinet with the Heritage 65 12" speaker inside, mainly because I already have a Z-Best 2x12 cab. Plus a 1x12 is way easier to carry around. It's nice to have options...

sorry this is off thread... Matt, a Maz 18nr pushing a ZBest is a thing of beauty. Carl Verheyen once said that his "ground zero" amp was a BF Princeton Reverb. For quite a few years now mine is Strat-->Room Mate Reverb-->MAZ 18 NR --> Z-Best. Everything gets compared to that rig.
