Hi,
Just ordered a Brake Lite for my Z28 2x10. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has had experience with this combination.
Many Thanks in Advance,
Iceboxcity
PS - I also posted this in the Z28 area.

It works great with the Z 28....I mounted mine on a board that attaches under the amp handle. So I can have easy access to it, and use it on various amps.

I think you will be pleased. I've only had my BL for a week or so but it works great with the Z-28 (and the Maz 18 and the Ghia). The only amp I didn't care for it with was the Stangray. Like starrman, I also mounted it on a board.

Thanks for the response(s).
If possible, i would be quite interested to see a picture of how you've rigged your BL.
Best, Iceboxcity

If you do a quick search someone already posted a picture in one of the earlier threads in the BL section of the forum. Not much to see. Just a BL screwed to a piece of plywood that is the same size as the BL (plus the flanges). I drilled six 5\8" holes in the 3\4" plywood for additional venting through the bottom but I don't reallly think it was necessary as the unit was designed to be mounted directly to the cabinet. Where the plywood sticks out for the flanges, it slips nicely under the handle and keeps it reasonably secure.

Well that is such a good idea I may have to mount mine like that. I have a 1970 princeton reverb that could do with a bit of taming as well.
I'm curious how much the BL will lower the level of the Z28. Are you able to run it pretty full throttle but bring the volume down dramatically? The more I play this amp (I've had it for just over a year) the more I like it. My only misgiving has been the volume. I am stunned by how loud it is - and equally stunned by how amazing it sounds when it's loud. I'm really hoping to get a piece of that action at a more manageable level. I never play out or rehearse in situations where i can crank it to the good stuff. I get close but not quite there.
As always, thanks to all for your insight.

Are you able to run it pretty full throttle but bring the volume down dramatically? icebox, Not "dramatically" by my definition of the word. I think for that you would need the regular Airbrake with the bedroom level variable pot. Even with the BL on 4, a dimed Z-28 will still be pretty darn loud. I forget what the db reductions are on the various settings but I think they are posted here on the forum somewhere. Also, I haven't cared much for the 4 setting on any of my amps (still experimenting though). 1 thru 3 are very usable however. It really does do what it claims and is a superior attenuator to the Hotplate I had a few years ago. YMMV ridgeback
