I gigged my New Galaxie Combo last night for the frist time prior to rehearsing with it. Am I the first on the forum to do so? Who knows? As loud as this thing is - the stage we played on was a very nice size and my Z-Brake ended up being turned off after a few songs. The Z-Brake is great for in the house playing and rehearsals. We normally use in-ear monitors but the gig last night had a house PA and House sound guy so I took the Z-Brake just in case. The amp was wonderful cuts thru without any effort. Had the sound guy come up after the gig and tell me how wonderful the amp sounded. I can not remember the last time a sound guy has come up engaging me in a conversation about my amp. He was quite impressed. I really am at a loss for words to compare this to my Maz 18 I normlally gig with. The Galaxie just has GONADS to the Max and very authoritative if that makes sense. The low end response is full and deep yet very defined. I feel this amp similar to the way I felt a friends SRZ-65 into a 4x12. The single 12 in this amp really rocks. I could only imagine what a Galaxie into a Z-Best would deliver. It takes Pedals Awesome. I used the Xotic BB and Fulltone Fat Boost last night as well as the Amps Second Channel. It was stunning. I will be back to in ear monitors on Fridays Gig. We will see how that goes. Obviously I will be losing a lot of "feel" with in the in ears. All I can say is this is the best Live Gigging Amp I have used.
