One of my bands (this one has a female lead singer) had a gig last night, a large club with a rather big dance space and very roomy stage. I've been using my RxJr mini-stack lately (2x10 + 1x12), and I have to admit I was less than thrilled with the tone I was getting with my Tele and Strats for most of the night. Then we hit our third and fourth sets where there are more Les Paul songs arranged back-to-back and -WOW- that was a combination made in heaven! I have WCR Crossroads pickups in my LP - very sweet PAF-style pickups. No matter what I did, how I routed it, the tone was incredible. My settings were: Treble, Mid, and Bass all dimed, front volume on about 4, rear master as needed, Hi input, no OD. We did "I Wanna Come Over" by Melissa Ethridge and I sent the LP through only my delay and into the Jr. GORGEOUS tone - all sparkly and chimey and rich but very meaty! Then we did songs like "Any Way You Want It" (Journey) and "I Want You To Want Me" (Cheap Trick), for which I sent the LP through the Zen Drive. HOLY MOLY MARSHALL STACK, BATMAN! Again, GORGEOUS tone. So I'm feeling lots of love for the Jr and the LP this morning! <---- the look of contentment on my face

I'm almost always thrilled with the live sound no matter which guitar, but when I record it's totaly different storey. Last night was a perfect example bass and guitar follow the same riff for most of the song and I got a great sound. There is another guitar track that sits on top of the main riff and breaks away for the chorus. That tone was the one I disliked over and over again no mater where I placed in in the mix. Switched from a the red Asat to the white one with the MFD's and like magic there it was
Glad your LP made you feel the power. Sometime I feel I need another humbucker guitar.
