Yeah, I DID used to own a sweet 2x12 cab. Hey, why did I sell that again??? :-)
What I'm saying is that, pound for pound, the Mini Z may be the most fun amp I've played in a long time. I love the attenuator set at 2 or 3 with the amp's volume a little past noon. Tube swapping is fun, too.
Simple circuit. Built to last. Fun times! Eddie

I think it may work at some of the gigs I play. Especially mic'ed. Without a mic, it may struggle against a drummer, but it sounds remarkably good.

So, you guys are sayin' I should get a Mini Z to go with my new Z-Best to compete with my Tiny Terror Keith Keith when I bought my Mini, I was A/B'ing it with a Tiny Terror through a Z-Best. There was no contest: the Mini blew the TT out of the water. Eddie: a mic'd Mini sounds like a monster. Turn your back, crank it through the PA and its a Marshall stack

Sorry to resurrect an oldish thread but I was jamming with the band theser the other day and decided to take the mini along instead of the usual maz38. Placed the mini head on top of my 1x12 V30 cab and it sounded very bassy so i elevated it by placing it on a chair and I was easily able to compete with our loud drummer but it sounded a little thin. I mic'd it up through the PA and it sounded wonderful....have to say...great little amp. I'm still thinking the V30 is the wrong speaker for the mini....I have a maz18 comming soon with a single G12h30 in it and I can't wait to plug the mini in and see how she sounds

I've only tried a weber blue dog. Is the greenback significantly different?

Mini is great with a G12H30 IMO. Love mine with that cab.

Mini Combo hooked up to 4X10 or 2X12 with blues is a little tone monster, no speaker break up, but great thick and creamy overdrive ;D
