Hello! I bought an immaculate used Mini and love it! I am amazed how it responds so well to nuances in volume and tone knob settings on my guitars (Telecaster and Music Man Albert Lee). I like everything about it just the way it is, but have one (perhaps naive) question: is there another type of tube or configuration of tubes to use in those instances when I want a less broken up and overdriven sound?

I had some NOS- RCA tube I put in mine...cleaned it up quite a bit....but ... I like the overdriven tone better! But that may be the way to go if your looking for "clean". Mike at KCA tube can fix ya up fo-sho www.kcanostubes.com/content/

Dr Z originally was going to use Svetlana 12AX7 for the mini but due to some reasons, he didnt. A lot of people on the mini z forum said they switched their JJ tubes (said they hated them) to the Svetlana 12AX7 and that their mini just came alive! try it out. As far as a longer clean, work with the volume knob on your guitar but i'm sure the Svetlana 12AX7's will improve it anyway.
