I played it last night for 2 hours, no problems...... This evening I took it to band practice and plugged it in and turned it on, the tubes glowed, the jewel was on..... but no sound!?!?
I got home and here's what I've tried so far
* New tubes all the way around > Power > Preamp > Rectifier = Still didn't work
* different speaker = Still didn't work
* replaced fuses (1/2 amp and 3 amp) = Still didn't work
Tried different ohm's out, still nothing... Not even a crackle. But the tubes are all glowing, and the Jewel light is working.... What can it be??
One thing I noticed earlier this evening before practice - I felt something kind of loose and a slight "klunk" in the amp when I bumped it on my leg while carrying it, I thought it was the speaker. I sat it down and tried pretty hard to move the speaker and it was in there pretty good, but I did notice the transformer was a little loose. It wasn't "about to fall out" loose, but loose enough to wiggle and go "klunk" when it bumped my leg. When I got home, I pulled the chassis and noticed there were some real small bare spots rubbed in the insulation around the wires leading to the transformer...... could the transformer have went out or shorted out against the chassis?
Any advice? I've got my amp tech looking at it tomorrow, but I want to see if anyone else has ran in to this? It's all lit up, but no sound.

You probably just got "conjunctivitis" - your conjunctive filter probably bit the dust. I'm pretty sure the Mazerati has one. When they go they can take other solder joints with them. I'd send it back to the Doc for a look over.

...conjunctive filter ... Not in this amp. I knew if I got that wrong either Myles or the Doc would jump in. I've never owned a Mazerati....I'm going to have to correct that situation so that I can learn more about it. I stand corrected. Phil

Got a call from my amp tech about 9:45pm.... He found the problem!! Remember I mentioned the transformer was "klunking" around? Well, I guess from weeks/months/years of moving around it pulled a couple of wires just enough to, in his words "cause a short upstream from the rectifer tube" and was blowing my Rectifer tube, and tripping my fuse....... So does that mean that the rectifier tube I took out of my Stangray and tried in my Rati is now bad...... you bet'cha it is I get no sound from it now. So it looks like I'm headed to the music store tomorrow and getting a couple of Rectifier tubes, and probably a spare set or two of Power tubes - and some spare fuses. The good news is that he fixed the short and put an old set of tubes in there to test it out and it works fine now [sigh of relief], but he said he wouldn't trust those tubes to do one show.
