If a -3db increment is roughly half volume, should an -11db increment be almost 1/16 of original volume? I know -3db isn't an exactly scientific number but just for a guideline.
I would think in a room that holds 3-400 people, brakelite on 4, plugged into low input - I should be able to get my RXES above 2 volume wise.
Is my brakelite defective or am I asking too much? On another forum there's a guy that says for gig purposes he has his amp volume almost dimed. high input, ES engaged and brakelite on 2. That configuration would get me arrested.

ETA: Did some more research and apparently -3db is noticeable and -10db is half perceived volume. So my 1/16 was off. Setting 4's 11db cut would roughly be half or equivalent to a 5W amp. I wouldv'e still assumed I could have raised the volume over 2 on the RXES with the BL on 4.

I believe 10 dB down is roughly half volume, and 3dB down is roughly equivalent to cutting the amp's power in half.
