I am a bit saddened by the all of the recent Mazerati amps for sale on ebay and the forum. I am kind of bummed that they aren't getting a good resale price either. Don't get me wrong...I am not selling...but they are worth a lot more than $950-$1000 IMO.

What was the last retail price? 10 - 20 % off list is not bad for used gear, is it?
I thought I wanted one but ordered a Maz Jr instead. I played a Mazerati and it went from silent to LOUD instantly. An Air Brake would be a must have. I talked to Mike about the Mazerati GT. He said it was louder. Insanely louder. Too loud. Looks like my Mazerati fetish may get transfered to a Carmen Ghia.
I tend to buy things and keep them. That sentiment is mostly a minority thing, yes? The next, best thing is a siren call that is hard to ignore. Trading may get you there faster.

The Mazerati was a real product, though not currently in production. The Mazerati GT is a lab experiment in higher gain.

I don't really understand all the Mazeratis for sale, either. I think a lot of people buy stuff just to hear what it sounds like, play it for a while, and then sell it on. It might be too that a lot of people who liked their Mazeratis and used them for a while decided they wanted a Stangray instead when those got the buzz about them. There are probably some folks who buy a Mazerati and, like one of the posters in this thread, conclude it's too loud for them and they'd be better off with a Carmen Ghia.
My Mazerati is probably my favorite amp. I bought it without having heard one in person first, just to hear what it sounded like. Before I plugged in, I would have said there was a good chance I'd play it for a while and sell it on to try something else. Then I heard what it can do. Now, it might be the last amp I sold if I were really desperate for money.
Maybe that's part of the answer to your question, too. The U.S. is still losing jobs, not just in manufacturing but in software development and other fields. There are lots of folks in tight financial straits. That thought is even more depressing than the idea of all those Mazeratis looking for new homes.

The Mazerati was a real product, though not currently in production. The Mazerati GT is a lab experiment in higher gain. The Mazerati GT was NOT a lab experiment. It is a very well thought out amplifier by Doc. We played 2 prototypes at Zfest and everyone there was very impressed. Production and release should be very soon now. I can't wait to get mine.

I heard the Mazerati GT's at Z-fest and LOVED them. Unbelievable high gain, clarity, ballz, definition, and feel! I've never heard anything like it.
Phil first on the Mazerati GT list

#4 or 5 comin to Papa!! Soon! ;D I think it a good spot to remind guys that the previous youtube link to the GT video is of the "Higher" gain prototype. The other is next to it on the bench in raw chassis form, and was as i recall, unanimously voted as the clear winner. The high gain version in the video sounded amazing, but may be just a bit to gainy too fast on the volume knob for some. I had the pleasure and good fortune to be able to play the "lower gain" GT on stage at the Fest and it was incredible. That one will be the production version. With single coils, nice fat crunch availible that either cleans up pretty well, or works for lead lines ..... without an O/D pedal! You could really just crank the GT and use you guitar volume and no pedals! But for all out smokin, kick in the O/D and Lookout! ;D

Hey Phil, what color is your GT gonna be? I did the red, w/red front panel. I normally like my stuff to be kinda low key, but i couldn't resist a screamin Red Mazerati!!
