sp glad to hear this thread,, i was going to try a set for a morgan vox type 2 el84 amp i am getting used. i will stick to jj's. never had problems with them froma certain vendor. i will chime in on my experience on the new production Tung-Sol el34Bs, put the set in and the bias kept creeping up, kept at it, got it to stop at 32 or so, played it for an hour or more, checked bias again the next day , it had crept back up higher, so i biased it to 32 again and one of them was definitely bad, thin and fizzy, thought i had a bad guitar cable or spkr,, but sent em back, the vendor said "it must have happened in shipping", well, he sent out another set, it biased up just right and they sound great,, i am going to stick to jj's for most tubes. expecially el84s,, thanks guys, and myles,, Just a side note ... shipping damage on tubes is somewhat common. Tubes will also drift in bias after a few hours as they burn in and stabilize. I normally check and rebias after the first show or about three to five hours of initial use.
