My amp just went quiet. I checked and all the tubes are lit up, it's just not making any noise. It's a 2005 2x10 combo. I'll call the Dr.'s office tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks,
Rich

Rich, Check out the thread that I had started 1 1/2 weeks ago. I blew my 1/2 amp 250 v fuse. Simple trip to radio shack solved the tonesick blues. Best of luck! 6strang

6strang,
I think you're right. I pulled the fuse and it looks blown. I'll stop by Radio Shack on my way home from work tomorrow.
Karma and thanks!
Rich
Update - Fuse replacement did the trick. Thanks again!

a blown fuse should disable the amp. I had a dud rectifier recently, all the tubes lit up, but no sound. Popped another GZ34 in and back in business. Good luck, let us know what you find.

Hi Greg,
It was the fuse. A trip to Radio Shack and 75 cent fuse put me back in business.
Thanks

This weekend my Mazerati blew a fuse. I changed it. Turned on the amp, it lit up. When I played the first notes it died with a "pop" of the fuse 3A. So, I changed the fuse again. This time the on light was on pre and output tubes were lit up, but no sound at all. My Z dealer just called and the rati is back with a new rectifier, I'm gonna go pick it up.

Foxx,
Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like it got fixed pretty quickly.
Let us know if all is well.

Everything is perfect. I was pretty sure that rectifier was out, it was not lit-up, all other tubes were. I blew a fuse. Changed it, the fuse did not blow, but I had no sound. A new GT 5AR4 and I'm back in business. Not a bad repair bill, $35 tube and a couple of fuses. If I was playing out with this amp I would try to have a back up of all tubes and some fuses. My amp is only 1 1/2 years old and is played at lower volumes. I hope that it was just a bad tube and not a symptom of something else.
Does low voltage wear out the rectifier as well as the output tubes? Would I recognize an audible difference in my Mazerati if I plugged into a lower voltage. Example, I plug my amp into the same outlet as all my pedals (1@24v 2@12v and 1@9v). On the same circuit in the house I am running a stereo and a computer. Is this a problem? I've been using this scenario for a while. thanks
