and I was wondering, what's up with the lack of a footswitch jack for the overdose function?
This was one of the reasons I wanted this amp so I can have a boost for soloing.

You should post up some pics and serial #, or call the Doc and ask. That way people can determine when it was made maybe? I thought they all had a footswitch jack?

I believe the early ones didn't have a jack. About using overdose for a lead boost - if it is anything like the RxJr, it is too much of a boost in my opinion. It is just too much of a volume difference, so either the rhythm is too soft or the leads are too loud. I use it more to get a different tone than for boosting (again - on the RxJr, anyway).

The early ES did not have a footswitch for the boost. There's a switch on the front panel to kick it on. Email me and I'll let you know what we can do. sales@drzamps.com Brent

My RXES has the panel mount switch too, but I prefer that because I use my guitar's volume control for solos (as God intended) so I just leave the Overdose on all the time.

I agree with Steve #1. Overdose on all the time, whether in the low or high guitar input, is a great way to go. You get a great feel that's almost Mazerati GT like, and it cleans up very well with the guitar's volume control. Just be real careful with the treble control- it has a lot of treble on tap and is very sensitive. I run my treble on "2" or less with Strats, and I like bright amps.
