Hi I would like to build a cab witha 8" on my own...for my loved miniz head. I could use the Weber Alnico signature 8" as Ted suggested on another thread... Any other suggestion to take in consideration? Any suggestion for a plan on the net to build a cabinet with that speaker? Thanks in advance CIAO Dave

Hey Dave - I built a cabinet for my Mini Z using the dimensions for the 1X12/2X10 convertible cab. I have the Weber Sig 8 in it and it rocks. Best of all, the whole cabinet weighs about 20lbs! Cabinet is nothing special...1X12 pine glued, no fancy joints, 1/2 birch baffle, and I've got it set up as an partial open back.
I've been playing it in a blues/rock trio with a pretty loud drummer and I am blown away by how much volume I have and how good it sounds. I have to mention though that the 8" speaker definitely likes single coils better than humbuckers. It might be the best clean Tele amp I have ever heard...(w/ volume about 9 o'clock). I also play a Melody Maker through it, an older one with a P-90 in it, and that might be the best over-driven tone I have ever heard (cranked!)...amazing with a slide and open tunings.
Hope that helps!
