Hey all, I have a general question about the volume these Mini's dish out. Here's my dilemma: When not playing gigs or practicing with my band, I play in a small (14 x 16) room, practicing leads against rhythm trax coming from a cd player or my Jam Man Looper thru my PA. I usually use my Maz Jr with a compressor and a fuzzhead. But to get "the tone" I am having to crank the Maz up to a level that is not healthy on my tinnitis (old, ringing ears). So, is the solution to get a Brake Lite for the Maz? Or can a Mini-Z (+/- stomp boxes) give me the distortion/overdrive sound needed for crunchy blues leads at a volume level that will match or beat my jam trax coming thru my PA when the PA is set at a conservative volume level? Also, which version? Head vs the rarer combo? (OBTW, I do not need an amp that can double as a bedroom amp).....Thanks, Lee

Yes, I have a Maz Jr/Airbrake and usually it works great at home. The mini is nice when I need to be quite for the family, and it takes pedals really well. I added an 8 ohm tap to my mini combo and run it through a 1X12 Hellatone 30. Sounds great. I my look into getting a Barber EQ so I can dial in the tone a bit more. But it works well as is for what you are looking for. Many times I just add a bit of delay to make the sound a bit bigger and use the grit from the amp. Hope this helps

this may be a statement of the obvious, but the "volume" knob and the "master" knob are flip-flopped on the Maz Jr from the equivilent knobs on "regular" amps. I say that to say that I get a very nice distortion by turning my volume up and leaving the master down on my Maz Jr.
