I have been doing a lot of listening these past few days and have found that I really like the sound of the EZG through 12 inch speakers. I have a 2 12 open back cab that is currently loaded with G12H30s. I'm thinking about changing one of them to a G-12-65 based on Docs recommendation.
Have any of you tried this combination with the Evan? Let me know what you think

I still love the 10's, just ordered a 2x10 for my smaller gigs, i use the 4x10 when i need the extra fire power. From what i can gather the G-12-65 is great if you want to try the 12. Airbrakes are pretty handy with these too!

Just picked this 4x10 cabinet up last week. I had tried the EZG with a Fender Dual Showman 2x15, an early '90's Mesa 4x10, and a Dr. Z 2x10 convertible cab. It sounded the best through the 4x10, but didn't look all that great, as the head is blonde and the Mesa cab is black. When I spotted the Carvin tweed for sale, I had to get it, as the looks are much closer. It was a good move. It's got the balance of bass & treble I was looking for to let the EZG sing. The Carvin VL 10 speakers sound great. I'm impressed. The cab's in excellent shape. Too bad they don't make it anymore. MeZa

nobody has taken my advice so far (which is totally fine), but the Weber Chicago 12 rocks with the EZG-50.

"Weber Chicago 12" - Open or closed cab? I've got an open cab that might be a good fit in addition to being easier to cary than my 4x10.
How much are they?

i use the Chicago 12 in my Dr. Z 1x12 convertible and it's great open or closed. but i generally i use it as an open back. when i bought my EZG i sent Ted Weber and email and asked what he thought would be the best match for the EZG and a 1x12 cab, and he directed me towards the Chicago 12. so this isn't just my recommendation, it's really Ted's and i'm just passing on the info 'cause he was right on the money. i think they are $100 plus shipping if you buy it directly through the Ted Weber web site. take care.

I've got a cab with g12h30 and 1265, with the ezg the h30 is too bassy - the 65 is very balanced through the frequencies.

I use my head with a 1X12 cabinet and a 2X10 cabinet running together and it is the best of both worlds. Both cabs are the older style Z-Cabs so the whole setup isn't too big.
