This has me on the egde of my seat too.
Arun, I hope ya dig it as much as I do.
If things had been a bit different I'd of had more "Ray" time...but that's life eh?
The Sr Floors me, although this new Lester and a possible new gig sure calls for an SRZ !?!?
Or perhaps an RXES?!?!?

First things first. Curt congratulations on your Z-Natic!
You guys are killing me with the Maz Sr talk. With no real outstanding nibbles on my 66 offering I'll have to think of other avenues. (probably like drop the price) Anyone interested in a beautiful, housebroken and well trained Sheltie? How about a neighbor's vette? The Maz gassing goes on...

Janinedoubly on here wants a Route 66 pretty bad. I think he's trying to avoid the temptation.

A friend of mine just bought a newer model Matchless DC30 and brought it over to A/B with my Maz Sr. 212. It was nice to compare the two especially since he paid more than twice what I paid. They both had the same speakers(V30/G12H30). They were definitely in the same tonal ballpark. The matchless was louder and had more gain on tap probably from the EF86 in channel 2. It also had some pretty cool features. Push pull to disengage master, a half power switch.and definitely had those overtones. But like I had heard before it was overly bright and had a weak low end at high volumes. Waay to trebly for my taste. The Maz was much tighter in the low end. you can really pop those low E strings on a maple neck strat. It was also alot warmer and smoother in the high end, never ice picky like the matchless. The Z also likes pedals much better. The Matchless spit back out a couple of really nice OD's partially regurgitated. Don't get me wrong the Matchless was impressive at times, but the event really made me appreciate my Maz 38 even more. What a great amp.

The MAZ Sr is an amazing amp..fo sho ;^) Many folks in here know that my favorite amp is the Carmen Ghia but for live work my #1 amp is a MAZ Sr (I can do most anything with it). It is a very versitile amp that can be used for everything from Rickenbacker 360-12 rhythm guitar to great lead work with humbuckers or single coils. It may be my #1 workhorse amp and it also gets loaned out a lot. It also may be the only black amp that was ever seen on stage with Brad Paisley at the December 10th 2004 Tilden's Children L.A concert with Brad Paisley, Mindy Smith, Restless Heart, and Dierks Bentley. I had tweeked the amp to work in concert with his RxES and after that concert he ordered a red MAZ Sr that he still uses today. But .... if anybody has photos of that concert, it will be rare as it was one time where a black Z was being played by Brad. On a side note, at last year's ACM's Zac Childs was on stage with Brad with a Beige RxES head and cab that belongs to Zac Childs when Zac played in this show.
