Hey all,
Just picked up my second Z amp today. A RX Jr. 1x12 combo amp in RED tolex. So far I'm loving it...I was looking for something that sounded similar to my StangRay, that would be a lot more portable. The RED part is just a bonus!
;D

Congratulations Paul...
The RxJr is a great amp... especially the red ones!
I'm loving mine. VERY versatile, loves pedals, right amount of power and headroom for anything I do around here. I shorted a 1/4 jack and use that instead of the foot-switch as I keep the Over Dose on and use a Clean Boost when I max out my volume pot.
Like James said, the Master Volume is a nice plus. All my guitars like it too!

If so what'd you think.. it just seems to me that that would be a killer combination (stangray and rxjr)

Congrats!
I run the RXJr in stereo w/ a MAZ Jr Nr, and it sounds amazing.
The Red ones really do sound the best! ;D

The rest of the guys in the band would absolutely KILL me if I managed to make my guitar rig take up much more of the stage! lol As it is I already take up more room than my keyboard player does. Maybe on a larger stage I might try that. To set it up here at home would be a chore and no doubt would ruffle a few of the neighbors' feathers (since it'd have to be done in the garage)! I guess I would need to invest in an ABY pedal to be able to do that. Then again...I don't have another mic handy for doing that on my own PA currently. Although I could always pick up another one at MF or GC. Hmmm....you've got me thinkin' and scheming!

Don't run them together unless you want to be instantly sucked into doing it all the time.
I used to be,"yeah, what's the big deal" and now I know. It's great. Same amps sort of, a little different voiceing, and two massive reverbs that just as big but different sounding. It's amazing!!!!!!

I've been thinking about running mine with a 1x12 solid-state peavey (transtube EFX 112) i've had for years. It has a pretty good clean tone, so i thought it would be pretty cool to run that one wet and with the Jr dry.. but i currently don't have an ABY switch.. i may have to go out and get one... and another Z to replace the crappy peavey in this equation

Well the RXJr made it's debut today at Church and did a fantastic job!
I'm happy to say that the tone felt very similar to my StangRay...and it was indeed a bit brighter as a few people here had said. 15 watts up against my Pastor's 60 watt peavy what-cha-ma-call-it absolutely held up and in fact I didn't get the master volume above noon. Much MUCH easier to move in and out too.
It was a great success and I got a LOT of looks from the congregation. Contemporary Christian music is SO FUN to play! Did some funk, some blues, some pop, and some traditional Christmas songs. What a kick!

Oddly enough I used my Rx Jr at church this morning but I used a closed back cab with the Weber Blue Dog. I was getting very strong bass notes on my low E and A string - open and fretted up to the 5th fret sounded like a bass going thru the PA. Sounded great on "Heartbreaker" but that wasn't on the set. I had never had that happen on that cab before until I closed the back completely. It worked out fine on the last song of the service though because the bass player didn't make it back in time and I was able to cover it. Other than the bass notes it sounds just wonderful!

I too use my Rx Jr. at church. I've got other players envying the tone. It's a great amp. As said before it takes pedals well and just flat out sounds good. And the MV is the best I've ever used. This amp is a keeper.
