My new RxJr head arrived this week, along with the 1x12 G12H convertible cab (I expect the 2x10 to arrive today). I've been test driving it with my '61 SG Reissue. Last night I dimed all the front panel controls - T, M, B, and Vol - and controlled the overall volume with the master. YIKES! It sounded SO Marshall-y I was grinning and grinning and couldn't put the guitar down. I just kept hitting this note and that note and other notes, just to hear them sing! And WOW what great feedback. I sounded like Live Cream ca. 1967. I can't wait to hear the 2x10 stacked with the 1x12. So far I'm a pretty happy camper!

These new Z convertible cabs are the deal. Everything I've run through my 2x10 sounds like it underwent a tone overhaul! Love the fact you can easily convert back and forth from closed to open too.

Yikes! VERY cyule looking amps! I've always been partial to blondes, but these redheads sure are foxy too! As soon as I take some photos of my new mini-stack I'll post them here and we'll take a vote on whether our Z Brethren prefer blondes or redhaids! Hmmmm...I've never run the Rx Jr through anything other than the 212 Blues....maybe I'll try the new 210 ;D

I dig playin' mine through the 1012 cab my brother built gives it "tonal range"

Once ya go black...................... ;^) these amps sound real, real good with Gibsons, I agree VERY Marshally. I played a couple of Don's Les Pauls into his RXJr and 'vert W/G12H and it was very much like early Gibbons tone. What was a real treat was the RXJr 2x10 combo @ Willcutts...that amp has the MOJO!!

Daniel, Great lookin' rig! I didn't realize how tall that combination would be (compared to the head & Z-Best next to it). I also didn't know that the 10" speakers were in a diagonal configuration. I really like the Blond, but there is something about the Red ones that just cause me all sorts of problems (amps and women).

I also didn't know that the 10" speakers were in a diagonal configuration. I didn't either...and I have one!!!!! I never even considered it since the speakers are 'side-by-side' on the website. Keith

Beautiful! I had the same stack at my house this weekend but both were 1x12s. I returned the one with the V30 in it and the one with the G12H30 should be here by the end of the week! I hoping I can use it at the gig on Friday!

Heres my little RX JR / MAZ JR combo stack... each using one of the Maz Jr combo's speakers I wired up a box for the combo to do this, or run either single or both with just the Maz... posted a thread about it in the Maz Jr section as it's a Maz combo I did it to.

DAAAANG! I did it again. I plugged my Strat into the RxJr stack with 1x12 and 2x10 cabs and played along with a bunch of Jimi backing tracks and **HOLY MOLY 2** I swear it sounded just like Jimi through a Marshall stack. I'm in tonal heaven, people. This RxJr is a marvellous amp!! I can't wait to take it out for gigs. Now all I gotta do is get in a band that does Hendrixy stuff and I'm set.

This past week a swapped out the stock speakers in my Marshall 1936 to some Webers I bought of beej (C1225 & C1230). I didn't get much of a chance to run the RXJr through it until last night. Due to some vehicle problems (the wife's van was in the shop) and the kids' music lessons (we had to run them to piano & drum lessons at 5:30), I got a late start to get to my band's rehearsal. I went light... just RXJr head, 1936 cab, BB+, and strat. HOLY MOLY again! It was like a completely different amp and guitar! The new speaks really added mids, low-end, and raunch when run hot (everything on the front dimed, master about noon). I said over on the MAZ Jr page that I hadn't used my bridge position on my strat much due to high-end harshness. The ole' bridge sounded pretty damn good through the RXJr and the new Webers! I think I only hit the BB+ for a couple of solos. The amp, cab, and guitar was all I really needed. And in case you think it was only a crunch-machine, a little twist of the guitar's volume knob brought out some to-die-for cleans. The guys were a little disappointed when I showed up w/out all my effects, as we do some pretty effect laden covers (Audioslave, U2, etc). But when we finished up, they said they didn't miss the effects w/ how good the basic sound was. ...great lil' amp!

I said over on the MAZ Jr page that I hadn't used my bridge position on my strat much due to high-end harshness. The ole' bridge sounded pretty damn good through the RXJr . . . . . . And in case you think it was only a crunch-machine, a little twist of the guitar's volume knob brought out some to-die-for cleans. Amen to both of these observations. Yesterday, for the first time in a LONG time, I also was using my bridge pickup, and it sounded really great! And, like you say, a small twist of the volume knob and it cleaned up very nicely. A great amp!

I've had the same stack with my Ghia, except in black. The 2x10's and 1x12 sound great together. Unfortunately, I sold my two ten convertible today. It was side by side, btw and not diagonal/off axis. I'll probably replace it with a 1x12 loaded with a Celestion Blue. I'm hoping that will sound as good as the 2x10.
