Looks I'm getting a RxJr with a Blue in it.
Anyone wanna let me in on general feelings about this combo.

I have a C-Blue in a 1x12 convertible cab and I like it a lot with the back off. It takes a while to get the Blue broken in--I had 5 to 8 gigs on it (most were 4 hours) before I felt it was broken in. It seemed a bit trebly and edgy before it broke it (with the RXJr). Now it has the chime and crang I was after and I'm glad I got it. It is very punchy with the RxJr. I'll bet you're going to love it after it breaks in! Congratulations!!

I've read alot of people singing the praises of the C Blue with other amps but I havne't really heard anyone with this combo. I guess it makes sense since everyone seems to like the RXES with the C Gold.

While I don't have a Blue (yet) for my Jr., it seems to be the consensus around here that it is the speaker for this amp. I think there was a poll a while back and the Blue was the most popular. Enjoy!

Yeah, krusty, I think you are right. Looking back through the RXJr stuff, it appears the the favorite speaker is some Blue variant (Blue, Blue Dog, Gold, Red Fang, etc.). That is followed closely by the Greenback (and it's variations). I also noticed that you liked the Weber alnico Silverbell. Sorry for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused...

I running a 1x12 convertible (open) with a C-Blue with my RXJr and it is killer. I love the chime--the top and mids are wonderful. Before the speaker broke in, it was a bit bright but it is perfect now. This week-end I A/B'd the JR with a vintage 30 and the Blue and it was "no contest." However, the V30 was not broken in so perhaps it would be better later. I don't think it is for me, however.
Gigging this combination is great. It is very easy to get great tone for country rock!

I have the RX Jr w/Dr Z Cab w/Celestion Blue. I was concerned with the power handling of the CB but that was put to rest by posting on Z-Talk and verified by blasting high volumes through it with various fuzz, wah, and reverb pedals. AWESOME sound!

I have The C-Blue with mine and it is awesome. But I have not tried any others. It sounds too good.

I noodled around with my Rx Jr and 212 Blues last night....finally!
I really like how when you pound on the strings, the speakers just compress and pucker.
With the tube rectifier and the Blues......you don't need a compressor ;D

The Blue should sound great with the RxJr. It is such a good speaker if you are willing to pay the extra bucks for it.

For me it's baby steps. Caught between two cabs. Both are top notch, one comes with Greenbacks and the Z has that option also. So, swaping the Blue out of the combo for cab and then get another Blue later. That or I stick with the Greens. They aren't bad speakers, but I love the Blue so far.
