I haven't received my MAZ SR yet. Looking at pictures on-line, what is the CUT knob? What does that do?

Basically in a simple manner, it reduces high frequency content, sort of like a treble control in a way but it operates in a different part of the circuit. It is something like a presence control on some class A/B amps such as a Marshall .... another way of looking at it.

The Cut is a treble roll off circuit, like used in the Vox AC30. Its a great control... you can turn up (or crank) the treble and roll off the cut and get more focus for hi gain. I find the cut a very usefull control for achieving a wider variety of tones.

The cut knob is probably my most tweaked knob on my Sr......great for dialing in diferent rooms or to other players.

I played a Maz for the first time this week. I found that I liked the cut knob set at two points. Either @ 9 o'clock in what I call the "set it & forget it" position or at high noon, then I set the eq & I can tweak the cut a little either way.

...i use the cut knob for dialing in different guitars....lower output pickups get more cut...(knob moved clockwise)....i also find that the cut knob doesn't do too much until the volume gets cranked up a bit
